Originally, Marlstone was a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Other Bordeaux varieties — Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc — have been introduced over the years The varietal makeup of the blend differs from vintage to vintage. For the 2003 vintage, Winemaker Erik Olsen selected a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot.

This wine’s inky, deep, ruby color promises intensity and depth. Its generous nose reveals layers of aromas: from black cherry, vanilla, toasted oak and cedar to nutmeg, cinnamon, blackberry and notes of violet and sweet tobacco.
